Northern Syria

The Need in Northern Syria

Northern Syria continues to face one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, with millions of people affected by ongoing conflict, economic instability, and displacement. Years of war have devastated infrastructure, disrupted livelihoods, and left many families struggling to access food, clean water, and essential services. Food insecurity remains widespread, particularly in opposition-held and conflict-affected areas, where supply chains are frequently disrupted, and economic hardship has made basic necessities unaffordable.

The region is also home to millions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) who live in overcrowded camps with limited access to healthcare, education, and adequate shelter. Frequent attacks, natural disasters like earthquakes, and harsh winter conditions further exacerbate vulnerabilities. Malnutrition, particularly among children, is a growing concern as humanitarian aid faces logistical and funding challenges.

Humanitarian organizations continue to provide critical assistance in Northern Syria, focusing on food aid, healthcare, education, and infrastructure rehabilitation. Cross-border aid operations remain a lifeline for millions, but sustained support and long-term solutions are needed to help communities rebuild, regain stability, and secure a path toward recovery.

What we are doing for Northern Syria

In response to the ongoing food crisis exacerbated by political conflict, the Water Well project aims to provide sustainable access to clean water for Palestinian communities. By constructing and maintaining wells, the project seeks to improve living conditions, support agricultural activities, and alleviate poverty by ensuring a reliable water supply.
